I'm curious sometimes browsing the forums, wondering where people thought of their usernames, so I made a thread about it :)

Some usernames are pretty self explanatory, but share the story/idea behind your forum username here!

Mine is pretty simple. I was creating my first character for World of Warcraft years ago and I couldn't think of a name, so my boyfriend combined my name (Jessica, obviously!) with Kayla and my character's name was born. I use it on forums when I can't think of a good name :)

Mine came from when i started/owned this website. :)

The original name i gave this site way back in 1996 was "The Photoshop Guru's Handbook".
And i, was its 'Keeper'. Hence the nick, 'theKeeper'. My "Join Date" shows 2002 because that's when i started the Forum section of the site.

Most or all of my original tutorials are still posted here too. That's interesting. hehe

I handed off the site to a user known as Gaussian.
I entrusted him with its care.
He in turn sold it to its current owner and here we are today.

I haven't been around here for a very long time.
But now and then i find the time to visit and pass along some help if i can. :)

It's good to see the community is growing and thriving again.
Happy to meet you all. Hope you all enjoy your time here.

Take care, see you round the boards. ;)

Thanks Mark, it's good to see you. I'd run into your posts and Gaussians many times as I made forum searches. It's good to have you stopping by at times, our PSG Professor Emeritus!

Jessica, I'm glad you started this. I've often wondered myself.

I figure most people think mine is pretty obvious but there's a bit more to it. When I first got AOL ISP, I wanted IDclare but it was taken. I didn't really care for ibclare, but then I thought about it. I am from IB, Imperial Beach, CA, which is abbreviated like 2 other of our beaches, Pacific and Ocean Beach, PB & OB. So it is a double entendre which I have kept through a few ISPs and still use for forums and the like.

But, I think I may ask Steve to change mine to Clare . . . too many members think I'm a guy, lol.

Mine is kinda silly. I worked as a Surgical First Assistant for 29 years.

I was introducing myself to a patient on a pre-op visit and I, for some strange reason, in a preoccupied state of mind, waved at the patient and stated "I am Sam". The patient cracked up and was trying very hard not to laugh. I suddenly realized what I had said and became very embarrassed! The patient and a Nurse in the room at the time, ratted on me and the story got out. From that day forward, several of the Surgeons I worked for introduced me as, IamSam.

On top of that, my wife at the time, used the newly adopted term when I had "non lucid moments", in sort of a reference to the Sean Penn movie. So.......I embraced the term and I'm proud that I'm an aging male who, on occasion, has non lucid "IamSam" moments!

I was musician years ago for 18 years. And I'd always deviate in my style of playing (for effect) , be it chord or rift progressions ... JAZZ was a favorite forte and when we'd play a jazzie tune , I'd add a bit of funk into it... thus my style became known as JUNK . ... seriously... well, that's what the other band members fondly called it...

Then I went into graphics and entered the world of internet . DV8 first came to mind .... and I added _FX .

Well, I'm just a 14 year old boy tha spends a lot of his time on photoshop, playing games and studying for tests. The name "I'm ready" originally came from school, right before a test. I would keep myself calm and whisper "I'm ready". One day, my friend caught me talking to myself and thought that was a good technique haha. So it caught on and I eventually earned a nickname.

I now use the name "I'm ready" to keep inspiring me for whatever I do.

And that's pretty much my story :)

You have an awesome attitude, Im Ready! That's very admirable.

Remote-Medic, I'd love to have you in my group when SHTF. I have all the weapons and survival gear we'll need, just not the greatest medical knowledge ;D
