Some of these costumes would still be usable today. Here in the US, Halloween is more commercialized. The middle and lower classes buy the cheapest massed produced costumes (WalMart or Outlet stores) and drag their children to the ritzy side of town where they Trick or Treat the higher income families. Like Christmas, Halloween is no longer the wonderful holiday that I so looked forward to as a child.

I hope it's better elsewhere.

Actually if you think about it a lot of movies/ images are trying to get that nostalgic vibe in order to convey a real sense of eeriness. That's the beauty of these photos-they are scary and disturbing without trying to be which makes it worse.
