Already only the idea, that's very cool Chris.
I am looking forward to see it 'dressed up'!

It was a rainy day in my country today. Just perfect to start working on my Owl again.
No texture, only colors and quite nice reflections.
I don't know about a background yet, everything I tried was too busy. Now the main focus is on the bird, that's important to me.

Critique, comments or suggestions are very welcome.

Nice colours Chris how about some textures?

Crisp and neat Chris! Beautifyl reflections.
And now some plumage texture on the body part?

Very nice, only a bit metallic, but I am sure that will change with texture.

Thank you all for your kind words and your suggestions for textures.
Yes, plumage textures sounds very challenging. I might try to do that.
I also want to put the bird in a BG. I would like to look it like a metallic sculpture in a modern Hotel lobby.

Great work Chris!
Nice work on 'dressing' the bird.

Just one thing thats not in balance, the eyes.
The eye ball with iris should (in my view) be another color like yellow or green (see pic below) and the pupil black. Just an observation.

I designed it to look a little cross eyed, though ....

it definitely looks better with centered pupils and colors changed like you suggested.
The eyes look natural and not blind. Stupid me.:banghead:
I really don't know if I'm going to change this.It took ages to render the image.

Thanks a million again Eggy for your comment.
I found an easy way to to correct the eyes. I just rendered the new eyes and replaced the old ones in the final image.
Looks cool now.

Way more natural Chris!
And I like your new avatar too.

I'm rendering a work myself and the program says 11 + hours to go.
Well I'll see the result somewhere in the morning and hoping it was worth the time....
