I plan on making a calendar for the year 2013 and need to know how many pixels to make the image. It will need to be printed on a standard piece of 11x8.5 (might have it backwards) white paper. What size do I make the new document?

You haven't said if in inches or centimetres so:

Landscape Orientation (reverse for Portrait orientation)

11cm x 8.5cm = 1299 pixels x 1004 pixels @ 300dpi

11 Inches x 8.5 Inches = 3300 pixels x 2551 pixels @ 300dpi

Also the above dimensions are for boarderless printing.

I have made it 300dpi because I assume you will want to print them.

Thank you very much! The demensions were dead on! I'm a big newb with photography and photoshop in general, but what is DPI, and how does it affect the print quality? Or maybe you could just point me in a good direction for some good info on DPI.

Thanks,

Chaz.
