Photomerge freezing

Hi everyone, I have Photoshop CS6 and have noticed that when I try to use Photomerge with any more than 5 or 6 images it freezes after loading the first 2 or 3, it never gets to the aligning stages etc. and never displays an error message, Photoshop just stops as if it thinks that the Photomerge is complete, when obviously it's not, this is a very annoying problem when I'm trying to make a panorama of around 20 images! :banghead: I have a retina MacBook Pro with 8GB RAM but the images are 18 Megapixels, could the size of them be the problem? However I've never had this issue before until the last couple of weeks and once even made an image with almost 100 images for a Photography project at school.

Thanks in advance,

Thanks for the reply Ged, I'll have a look at the link and I did update PhotoShop earlier but I'm not sure if that's the same as the video card drivers

UPDATE: Unfortunately resetting the preferences didn't work, still getting the same issue

You need to check to see that you have the latest Video Card Drivers, this is separate from Photoshop you need to check what video card is installed on the Mac and go to the website and install the latest drive, more than likely it's either AMD, Intel or Nvidia

This may help to check
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4152

After you find out which Graphics card is installed go to the manufactures website and see if there's any updates available, if so install the latest driver

As a last resort you could try this
http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html

Please make sure to DEACTIVATE Photoshop before doing the above!!!!

PS

You can also check out here, maybe someone there can help you better than me!

Available Ram and Scratch Disk are something you may need to look at as well

Thanks again Ged, unfortunately I can't find any guides that tell me how to update the graphics drivers for my mac as they all seem to be for the older software. I'll look on the apple and intel websites to see if I can find anything.
