Hello all! I'm not really new to Photoshop, but I am new to creating a effect like this...
Here is an image using the effect I wish to use:
4f62084b67854.jpg

Basically what I'm asking is how could I make it so that there is a shadow like effect creeping onto the picture while leaving the top of the picture without the effect.

Thanks for your time,
-Felix

Hey Felix, welcome to PSG.

This was probably created in a 3D program like C4D.

edit: Sorry, missed the bottom part! That could be several things, probably a gradient.

Thank you for replying IamSam, and thank you for the welcome.
3 different gradients I assume?

edit: Yeah the gradients did the trick. I should of thought of that, haha.

Here's one where I just used the Rectangular Marquee Tool, feather set to 30, inverse the selection, fill with black...

Add a 80 pix Gaussian blur and then lower the opacity......

Intriguing.

I would have instantly gone down the 'Inner Shadow' path...

...but then I like dark places.....soft, dark places.
