hello,

I have a project I'm working on that requires me to take a image of a rug that is full frame. and then take a image of a sofa or chair, then put the sofa on top of the rug in a way that makes it look like i took the picture standing in front of it in real life. so i need to change the rug to look like its laying on the floor, and then change the sofa to make it look like its on top of the rug. i am a newbie so please be descriptive. I can't thank you enough for your help. if you are confused on my wording ill attach the picture of the rug and sofa.

thank you!3164108_fpx.tif.jpeg2532128_fpx.tif.jpeg

Hello and welcome to PSG.

Open the Couch image and remove it's white BG. Turn the layer off.

Open the rug image in the same document and remove it's white BG.

On the rug layer, use Free Transform (perspective and free transform) to adjust the rug where you want it.

You may have to expand the document.

Turn the couch layer back on and adjust with the move tool.

Make a copy of your original by hitting Cmd/Cntrl + J.
Turn the original layer off.

Then just use the Quick Selection Tool to make a selection of the couch.
I selected the white BG because it's easier. But you could select the couch (you would have to use REVEAL SELECTION for the mask).

Then go to LAYER > LAYER MASK > HIDE SELECTION.
Should look like this...

Do the same for the rug.
