Making 3D Cube with Transparent Layer

Hi! I'm a total newbie at using 3D tools in Photoshop. I have CS5 Extended v12.0 and I want to create a cube similar to what is shown here but with a transparent honeycomb pattern (see through). I also want to remove the back sides so it a cube with the three front-facing sides that are drawn/visible. Is this possible with my version?

Thanks,
Keanu

Okay, since you say you're a total newbie I'm gonna try to explain it in pictures.

Have ready a honeycomb texture with the picture in white and the background in black.

I used this one this is a quick one and not at all perfect!)

honeycomb.png

Open a new canvas 1000 x 1000 px in 50 % grey

Use the cube wrap mesh

and move the scene so you have a view

click on the texture and in the opacity choose load texture

Untitled-4.jpg

open the honeycomb texture file
This works as a mask: black conceals and white reveals

Change light and shadows at will and render.

This was a quick work to show how to...

Whoops, this was done in CC2017, but I assume it will work in CS5

Here's one fully rendered but instead of 50 % grey I used orange, with shadow and reflection:
