Hey guys, I really want to apply some cool effects to my text to create something more interesting like these:

Welcome to the forum!

Have a look at the Liquify tool - https://www.google.co.uk/webhp?sour...e=strict&q=liquify+tool+photoshop+cc+tutorial

Firstly create your text - then "rasterise" the text so you can use the liquify tool.

Then create a copy of the layer and apply a Gaussian Blur - add a layer mask and then use that mask to control what parts of the text are blurred.

If you need a more detailed walk through - happy to oblige but will have to wait until I get home from work.

Cheers

In addition to John's suggestion, you can also experiment with the various Distort filters. After rasterizing the text, here's what Zig Zag looks like.
