Trying to remove background from an image

I am trying to remove the background from an image. I have tried using the quick selection tool, the magic wand tool, the magnetic lasso tool. Alas, it's not going well. It seems that I can not get the image of the person fully selected. The tools seem too sensitive.

When I use the magnetic lasso to outline the person I get all the way around the image, to the start point and when I double click and the selection disappears. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Hi

Can you post the image in question? magic wand and magnetic lasso tools are not the best tools for masking out a person, you can use the quick selection tool with select and mask but there are other methods available including the pen tool and channels
Check out these tutorials

If you need help posting images on the forum take a look here

Sorry it's late for me and I've got work in the morning, take a look at the tutorials above, it's all about practice and lots more practice, also check out here

The forum only allows 3500 px * 3500 px images, if it's larger you'll need to change the size or post a link from a file hosting site like DropBox

Its low res because I wanted to show you what Im working with. I tried to use the pen tool. But how do you get it to select once you finish outlining the image? When I double click after outline the outline disappears. I must be missing something

When you make a selection with the Pen Tool just right click and select make selection, once you have the selection just hit CTRL J to copy it to a new layer

As I mentioned post the original image via Dropbox and a post link to the download so we can help you further
