Photoshop Selection Glitch?

So i was working on something in photoshop and i made a line with the pen tool then used the stroke feature to highlight it, i decided to delete it and made a new layer, i tried to paint this layer black but somehow i can only paint over this line even though i dont have it selected. Does anyone know what i have done and how i could fix this?

Did you create a marquee from the path?

Have you turned off the visibility of marquees?

CTRL + H will toggle marquee visibility.

If you have a path it will be in the PATHS PANEL....select it and delete it, then use CTRL + D to deselect.

That wasn't what I originally wrote but close.

Ctrl+h did nothing and there is nothing in the Paths Panel

After opening photoshop today the problem seems to have fixed itself, thanks anyways
