hello all
i'm new to this forum

i have a question about my new laptop
my cpu is working full out during 3d rendering and my GPU apperntly not, so my quetion is is my performance normal or not

it has the following specs
win 10 home
i7 7700hq 2.8 - 3.8 ghz
16 gb ram
gtx 1060 with 6 GB
250 samsung 960 evo nvme as boot and programs drive
2 samsung sata ssd as document etc drives

i have started to play around with the 3d capabilities of photoshop

this is what happens when i render a simpel file ( only the five cubes are 3d renders)
the orb.jpg

resolution= full hd / 300 dpi

my processor runs at ful speed (al 8 threads at 3.2 to 3.4 ghz)
ram ussage around 8 to 9 gb (including music player en internet etc)
my GPU MHZ = 1404 (without rendering 139 MHZ) and GPU memory speed = 3802 (without rendering 405 MHZ)
screenshot not rendering :

screenshot rendering:

my GPU usage never exceeds the 2 procent and only 1,2 gb is used of de video card memory
the render time = 24 min 46 sec

these are my photoshop settings

i expected (may wrongfully) dat my videocard would be harder at work than my cpu

so my question is is my performance normal or not
because i dont know

thanks in advance
