Way to extract similar objects with different colors contrasts?

Ahh the first post!

So, this is a bit out of my league. I'm looking for a way, preferably with actions, where i can take images similar to the attached clouds, and extract the majority of the cloud (yes, even the wispy part). I've struggled with the magic wand and finding parameters that work on various files. This ideal solution would be something that would work on many images, not just the two attached.

Ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Using Alpha Channels might be your best bet. This video shows a good way to deal with it.

A quick selection gave me this result. I set the selection on a Green BG. With careful selection, you can get better results.

I tried using Colour Range, but Alpha Channels gave a better result. Let us know your experiences.
