Trying to get a similar effect as this, need some suggestions.

Hey, So I wanted to post an update. Here is the image I finally ended up with. Much closer to what I wanted to try to pull off. Thanks for all of the help and all of the suggestions! I played with the opacity of the brush strokes and allowed them to layer over one another. Once that was...

Trying to get a similar effect as this, need some suggestions.

Thanks. I will try playing with the opacity. It will help add a bit of depth that I think is lacking from my original attempt.

Trying to get a similar effect as this, need some suggestions.

Thanks. I initially did play around with the filter settings. That is definitely a filter that needs to be used. I think it's just a matter of playing around with the design before using the filter. I've used different brush shapes as well. I'll continue to try to do different things...

How do I get this effect?

So I was able to get a similar feel for what I was looking for with a combination of everyone's suggestions. I created the shapes with a torn edge look then added a motion blur. From there I just layered things over each other in various blending modes. Thanks for all the help guys!

    Help with Highlight/Shadow effect

Hey I have another solution you can try. Although like everyone had mentioned, the bevel and emboss usually does the trick. So this is pretty simple: 1. First create your circle with the ellipse tool. then use the gradient tool diagonally. I picked the colors using the eyedropper tool right...

How do I get this effect?

This seems like a good approach to start with, the torn paper idea. And yeah the idea of it being kind of tie dye will be helpful to play around with. Thanks! I'll keep playing around with it and see how it goes.

How do I get this effect?

It's from an article of clothing, I took the photo. It's a piece of smooth stretch nylon (or spandex material) with digital printing on it. The original photo I posted was a close up photo.

Help with making a hand-made logo a digital logo

If you have access to Adobe illustrator I would definitely recommend using that. Illustrator is ideal for creating logos since it is a vector program that you can resize without worrying about pixelization if you want it bigger at a later point in time. And don't worry i think you will be...
