Question about halftone brushes in PS

I'm sorry this reply is so late coming I've been cut off the internet for a while here. Stochastic halftone, very nice. Not seen that before and I like it a lot, just a little to make it easier on the eye might work a treat for me as my halftone is always so big. There are some nice Ps ones I...

Question about halftone brushes in PS

It's cost me a considerable amount of pain but I've managed to upload a few seconds of the Krita halftone brush in action. hopefully this will clear up any misunderstandings, it's a bit of a tricky thing to describe and I don't want to go round in circles because of my inability to clearly...

Question about halftone brushes in PS

Well the timing might be coincidence. I'm in Nepal and can only be online in the evenings but I answer as soon as I get the chance. Thanks for the help Tom, I really appreciate it.

Question about halftone brushes in PS

That's a pretty accurate translation, thanks for taking the time. I suppose ultimately what I'm asking for is just the brush. A halftone brush or eraser that varies the size of the dots with the pressure applied. I actually use this brush to mix the colors too but this is beside the point. If...

Question about halftone brushes in PS

It's a peculiar workflow and I'm missing a lot of the Ps lingo to describe it I fear but you have hit it almost on the head. The color of the half tone will always be just the same color as the layer it is part of as these images are from a fixed number of layers and each of these layers can be...

Question about halftone brushes in PS

Yes I think you get what I'm asking about Tom. I have a method of using it by layering different colors on top of one another and would really miss this but the grey scale to halftone might be a workable alternative if this kind of brush cant be found elsewhere outside of Krita.

Question about halftone brushes in PS

Or an eraser that will lighten the halftone already down by reducing the size/density/weight. Not by lightening the black or color which defeats the purpose for screen printing.

Question about halftone brushes in PS

thanks Sam. they were not there but there was an option to load presets that took me to the folder with all the files. These files were grayed out but after fiddling around and trying the load preset option a few ways I got to the folder without them being greyed out and uploaded all the...

Question about halftone brushes in PS

I’ve been working in Krita but it’s bugged out on me and I’m trying to finish in Photoshop CS6 though I don’t know it very well. I’m designing for screen print and one of the strengths of Krita was the Halftone brushes. So I downloaded some halftone brushes online for Photoshop, I’ve got a...

    Photoshop for screen print designs?

I get the feeling you want me to show you some sketches or pictures but this kind of defeats the point. It's a screen print design with 3 colors and I'm looking for a set up to do many different designs. Screen prints are made of several layers, each of a single colored ink stacked one on top of...

    Photoshop for screen print designs?

That's about right. I've not got any screen shots as I've not started yet. I was not eager to put work into anything without knowing the workflow first. I've given the hue and saturation layers ago now and think Ive got it worked out. Thanks for the help, N.

    Photoshop for screen print designs?

Thanks for the reply sc00t but I'm a little confused by the example. I have three layers for 3 different colors for a screen print image. I'm not too sure about these shapes? I think the description of "solid shapes and marks" may have confused the issue. These are essentially illustrations, so...

    Photoshop for screen print designs?

Thanks for taking the time to try and help me out sc00t. I’ve a Cintiq HD13 and a macbook pro with me and to be clear I’m not struggling with curved lines. There is a bug in the program I normally use to sketch out these illustrations for screen-printing, (Krita) that puts little corners/angles...

    Photoshop for screen print designs?

I'm a big fan of Krita and very sad that I'm locked out for the next few months so I shall qualify that statement in so much as my Macbook is an early 2011 and is running Maverics. But yes, for me on this kit it can't draw curved lines, it put's little angles in there. If you do it slowly...

    Photoshop for screen print designs?

I’ve come here because I’m a little confused and need some advice. I have to make designs for several screen prints and I need to do this while I’m away on holiday so I grabbed my old macbook pro and Cintiq 13HD on the way out the door thinking this would do the job. I’ve been using Krita at...

    full screen and flip

Hi I'm new to working digitally but have bought a tablet and been trying to learn. I saw Painter and thought I'd give it a trial run as it's most suited to what I do. I watched a bunch of tutorials and when I'd finished the first thing I found was that I could not find an active forum for...
