    How did they do THIS?

.... Buncha dirty old men on this forum...... even the young ones......  Surface blur and some shadow/highlight adjustment. This is, in fact, not at all difficult to do. If you had shown a picture of a car or tree instead of scantily clad and well endowed women you probably...

    The weight of the uncertainty

Interesting concept. Those boxes look like Borg cubes. ;)

Brushes Anyone know if this is a brush?

DeviantArt.com has skadzillion such brushes and most are free to download. Try this one: http://browse.deviantart.com/?qh=&section=&q=corner+border#/dvo4mk Not quite the same but close. If that doesn't work just do a search for "borders" or "corner borders". Ditto vectors - just do a search...

    La invitación - the invitation

Gotta agree with Clare - a black vision, but superbly executed (yes, that pun was intended).

    Revive the Challenges?

I don't really want to pick a "winner" for these challenges, to be honest. We all have different skill/experience levels and a newbie would be justified in feeling a bit intimidated to go up against some of you (I know I am!). It's really all about participation, discussion and learning. Each...

    Revive the Challenges?

When I first got here we had weekly challenges, each one challenging members old and new to use some technique in Photoshop. I loved having them, as they pushed me in directions and had me use skills I do not use every day. While I was offline they seem to have petered out, but I'd like to...

    Intuous4 Problem

This is a very timely post, Vargas. I'm in the decision making process right now for a pen tablet. Aside from the fact that I will get a Wacom I'm not sure whether to go with the more expensive (larger) model. I'm not a professional graphic artist so I can't really justify the Intuos unless...

    Opinions Please!!! Pick which font......

You're right, DoTTGaMMa, the bevel - indeed the text itself - was not my best work. Trouble is I had a deadline and after spending a week on the background I needed to stop fiddling with it and get it out the door! That has been one of the steepest learning curves doing this series. I'm only...

Having fun with PS and AE

In addition to what ibclare said, the motion seems repetitive and takes away from the images themselves. It is not necessary for EVERYTHING to move - give the eye a rest and keep your best images still, allowing the watcher to focus on them. You're obviously very talented and you should show...

What Was The Reason Behind You Joining Photoshop Gurus? (Long Term Members)

I'm not sure if you would consider me a long-term member, but I'll answer the question anyway. I had progressed in my Photoshop learning to a certain point and wanted a community where I could both teach and learn. I went to several places recommended by others and that went very badly...

    Colorizing white, I need help.

I had a quick go at it. I adjusted the exposure and the shadows/highlights a bit before I put the color on. I admit that it still looks a little washed out I used adjustment layers for the skintones but I add the different colors of the other items (shirt, hair, dress, etc) with new layers...

    Help

Really? Well, it was still fun to try colorizing - I'm just sorry it wasn't for a nicer fellow. :)

    Help

I'm not normally a big fan of colorizing, but I decided to try it. This is my very first attempt, so don't laugh. ;)

    Help

Fun stuff! They look so stern, but I seem to find a twinkle there. This could be tweaked a bit more, but I was afraid of losing detail.

    dirty grain

There really is no easy way to do it. You'll have to use the various tools in photoshop to clean that off the image. The clone tool, healing brush, and some judicial coloring will clean it up, but having done some photo restoration myself I can tell you it will take time. A lot of time...
