    Here @PSG

When I first started experimenting with Photoshop I did it to enhance photographs. I fell in to a graphic type thing that was WAY over my head and made some dreadful mistakes but had a lot of fun experimenting. Once I had gone a certain distance I wanted to share it with others but the people...

    Germany wins world cup

I'm bitter about it. Although my heart was with Germany (I lived in Weisbaden for a while and loved it), my money was on Argentina in the office pool. Ah well. Nicely played by both teams!

    Photoshop Gurus New Look

When I originally had the problem, my skin was set to "Forum Default" rather than anything specific. I'd never touched any of those settings, truth be told. I never had any reason to. I just went back and changed to "Metro Fixed" and the header was FUBAR. Went back to Fluid... normalcy...

    Photoshop Gurus New Look

Well, there ya go. I had gone through all the various skins except Metro Fluid. I decided to try the fluid version (instead of Forum Default) and it seems to have fixed the problem. Go figure. Ah, well, my problem seems to be solved and I will leave it to you guys to do the head-scratching. :)

    Photoshop Gurus New Look

This is the weirdest thing..... I have updated browsers (Chrome, IE and Firefox), I have cleared my cache, I have made sure my resolution is set at 100%. The result is the same. When I log out, the header looks normal. When I log in, everything goes flooey. On three different browsers. And...

    Photoshop Gurus New Look

And I don't seem to be able to attach more than one image inline. I see no option to change skins unless I go to my profile. This happens in Firefox, Chrome and IE

I pulled up PSG and saw the new skin and it looked wonderful..... until I logged in. My first view: Very nice!! But then I logged in:

If you're using a wireless keyboard, that might be it. I had one that used to do that and it turned out that it would bounce the signal off a glass paperweight on my desk. Moved that paperweight and problem solved.

    any remarks on this photo?

Agree on the vignette. I love this photo. This is one happy dog! I wonder what happened before this shot was taken. Was he fetching his ball from the pond? Playing in the hose with the kids? Swimming in the lake with his family? All of those scenarios are like heaven to a dog.

    Photoshop & The Future

Truer words were never spoken!! The thing I love about this place is that usually they get an answer. I often wonder how many of them stare at the instructions or tutorial in stark terror. Then decide either (1) it's not worth it or (2) we're insane and just don't want to share the...

Challenge 23: Spread your wing and fly

Here's SuperMerlyn, flying over San Francisco to keep the Evil Mouse King from taking over! Stocks are a standard photograph of the skyline of San Francisco (can't remember where I got it) and a prior picture of my kitten Merlyn laying on the rug which you have all seen in another place on...

    PET Photo - Understand light

:D :D Thank you, Clare!! I agree that my results could be improved on. I did no sharpening at all, which of course I would have done on anything more than an exercise in lighting. IMO, a high-pass can almost always improve the final look of a portrait.

    Panel Testing - Help Required.

To be honest, I've not had wonderful luck with this kind of thing. In most instances something doesn't work or blows up or creates collateral damage and ends up being much more frustrating than doing it the "hard way". I tend to be something of a purist when it comes to complex programs and I...

Poll Do you always use Pen Tool?

The pen tool is an absolute necessity for some tasks, like making a path for the brush tool or text. However, most people use it to cut images out of larger works. When cutting, I use it when I need precision, but it loses me when very fine, complex cuts are necessary like hair or fur or...

    PET Photo - Understand light

No arguments from me, Tom! Now if you could just give me some insight into how to light a black cat so that (1) all the light isn't sucked into its fur and (2) the highlights aren't so blown out that the cat looks like it's been chrome plated and (3) the black mass actually looks like a cat...
