    Friday the 13th

Today is Friday the 13th - always a lucky kind of day for me. Also a full moon - the last full moon Friday the 13th until 2049. Yes, I am superstitious. In fact, I am probably the most superstitious person you'll ever meet. Friday the 13th doesn't bother me, I spill salt with abandon, and I...

What colours if any do you see?

Package arrived today from gedstar. NOW I see colors!

What colours if any do you see?

I see black, white and gray. If you see something different, please share whatever you're smoking. ;)

How can I recreate this effect?

I don't think it's a brush. I think it's a composite of several elements - the star field, the player, the lava vent and maybe some clouds/smoke. Whatever it is it's effective and would take some time to duplicate, but it could be done.

please allow me to introduce my rant

I had the same virus. I strongly suggest that you get any files you care about backed up right away. It gave me popups for a while then froze me solid, saying that I needed to pay for their service to get the garbage off my system. I ended up having to reformat the whole thing to get rid of it!!!

How can I recreate this effect?

That looks like a picture of a lava flow blended into the pic of the ballplayer. Something like this. This picture is low quality and copyrighted by someone else, but I think it shows what I mean.

Best Way to Clean Up this Photo

I like the spot healing brush for things like this. Zoom way in, make your brush small, and brush over the brown spots. It will clean them right up. For the edges I would likely use the clone stamp to keep the detail, but if you don't want to do that make a selection around the area you want...

What the heck is your name and . . .

I'm Sierra. Yep, you can use it here. :) The "CCR" part is the identifier for my home airport in California. And I have I am Sam moments all the time. Kinda like "here's your sign" only quieter. :D

Me again with another noob question

It's a gradient. There's a tool in under the paint bucket.

    What's wrong with this picture?

Your vision is entirely yours, so nothing is a "bad idea". I rather like the yellow field idea.....

    What's wrong with this picture?

It's a beautiful shot, but there's no real focus point. When I looked at it my eye went searching for what the point of the photograph was supposed to be. With the right cropping, perhaps using blurs and color work, etc., you could make this into several different pictures. I've done a couple...

    Old Store

Hershy, would you mind if I played around with that image a little? I'm working on a piece just for fun and this little store would be the perfect addition.

    Old work

Well, back then I was really proud of myself. I sometimes wish I still had an audience for a monthly poster with a pre-set theme. It stretched my (minimal) skills beyond photograph retouch/reconstruction that I do now. I love to play with special effects and composites.

    Old work

Oh, Lord... I should preface this by saying that these are not all random images. The building, the cat, the crows and the phantom mask were all elements of the game. How incredibly shaming..... Don't judge - I really am better now.

    Old work

My guy is a fan of professional wrestling. A couple of years ago he ran a sort of internet tournament thing once a month and, in the style of professional wrestling, it was a grand production. I was responsible for producing a poster in the theme of that particular show. I usually only had...

    Post Your Cat Pix Here

I'm still trying to wrap my head around having that many cats, DV8. They all look supremely healthy so whatever you're doing it's working. :) I have had as many as four (plus two dogs) and even then it seemed like I was always tripping over somebody. Still...... if you lived near me I...

    is it possible to edit

I have to agree with the others. This is an accurate representation of what this pretty little girl looked like at that moment in time. As a mother myself, I would rather have that than anything created with bent pixels. :)

I'm blue (variations on a theme)

These are wonderful! Just the thing to make me smile on a stressed-out Wednesday!
