    Microsoft likes my photography. Help!

This is a good question. If it is a phishing scam, the only thing they would get is larger version of the pictures (which they could most likely get by just asking anyway). The headers look legit and it appears to be a legit @microsoft.com email address I am emailing to.

    Microsoft likes my photography. Help!

On July 12th, I recieved a personal email from Microsoft. It appears they've gone though my online photo albums (all of them, so they looked at hundreds of pictures!) and found some they liked: "Hello <Glitch>: My name is T..., and I am a content coordinator with the Windows Personalization...

Rays of Color - like a flashlight

I had a nice long post to you yesterday get deleted too. I'm in the habit of doing a CRTL-A CRTL-C in long posts periodically, but not yesterday apparently! The tip looks good, and the video was useful as well. Would you believe in all my years of Photoshop, I've never used anything but...

Rays of Color - like a flashlight

Ah ha! This was just me being an idiot. ... I needed to scroll down in that window. All I could see were the regular round brush shapes. So do I have to load custom brushes every time I want to use them ,or are they 'plugged into' photoshop?

Rays of Color - like a flashlight

Ah, then I am doing something wrong. I was able to "load brush" but I was suspecting I was just using my old brush. How do I use the brush once it's loaded. ... and thanks for putting up with all my newbie questions. I'm used to the nice simple toolkit on the left side.

Rays of Color - like a flashlight

Thanks. I was able to download and load the brush into CS4. I am not sure how to make sure I was using it after I load it. Is the act of loading it from the "Load Brushes..." the same as loading it for use? Do I have to load it each time I want to use it, or is it saved somewhere after I...

Rays of Color - like a flashlight

Yes, this is very close to what I want. I'd have a few brighter orange/yellow in there too, perhaps filling the top half a little. What tool are you using to create the nice transparent color 'beams'? I'm not sure I have it, or know I have it :D.

Rays of Color - like a flashlight

Here you are. The text is rasturized. I have an earlier version where it isn't if you would like.

Rays of Color - like a flashlight

Like this, only less sloppy (and using layers, of course). I just used the paintbrush with opacity to do this.

Rays of Color - like a flashlight

That is very close to what I wanted. I'd like the color rays to extend out of the lens, as if the lens were emitting them itself, so they would extend off it into the whitespace. Also, where do I find the light beam brush?

Rays of Color - like a flashlight

I am working on my business card again and I'd like to start adding color. I have something rather specific in mind. First, here's a sample that is a little close to what I have in mind (without the bubbles): Color Rays Here is my rough draft card (ignore black on black and gradient in the...

    Photograph watermark examples

I agree with you completely. However I only have a Canon PowerShot A1100 IS. It's a very nice camera for what it is, but it won't shoot in raw - only jpeg. So I keep the unedited 4000x3000 jpegs instead.

    Photograph watermark examples

Yes, yours is closer to what I had in mind, thanks. But with metadata, can't anyone just go in and change that? The only thing I can think of is to never release the original, that way you have it as proof. As for right now, I just want to protect my IP and assets while still being able to...

    Photograph watermark examples

Hello, I'm looking to start watermarking my original photography that I send out as proofs. I want to create a noticeable but not obnoxious watermark that isn't easily photoshopped off or cropped out. So I am looking for examples. I've searched Google, but I'd like human response. If...

School me on font use in photoshop

I did this in about an hour. It's upscaled because at the time I didn't know how to get nice smooth fonts. It's a start of what I want. My name's font will be changed and I want an object reflecting in the lens casting out rays of color (this should help with black on black issues). When I...

    Greetings from Northeastern NY

The bus was quite fantastic. Had I known the story behind and about the artwork, I would have taken more pictures. I might still get that chance. I will admit I saturated the blue a bit, but not much! It was very vivid.

School me on font use in photoshop

Yeah, the stroke outline and gradient were a temporary thing to improve readability. It will be different in the future.

School me on font use in photoshop

Thanks. I will try this next time. My resolution was at 72. I will try 300 next time. I also made the change to pixels. Thanks again for the help. here's what I came up with for a business card (scaled up): Card It's still a work in progress. Only about a half hour put into it. I...

Looking for a good source of free fonts.

hello, I'm looking for a good source of free fonts. Specifically I am looking for a nice stylized handwriting font like this: Image of Signature. Normally I would just sign my name until I liked it, but I have a disease that makes motor control of my hands difficult. As a result my...
