Ive been looking for some myself. You're right, there are a lot of rubbish tuts out there where even the final resulst look nothing like what we are after.

I think its pretty hard to find a good, apply to all images tutorial, but I have used these before with fair results.

I think it will take a fair while to achieve this effect and get used to your own little tricks.

There are a couple in my gallery that I did in the style of Dragan but never quite got it.
