Argument passing from Droplet to embeded script

I am looking to build a script that will organize a series of images files passed via a droplet ultimately replicating the "Open as layers" functionality. The number of images will vary from 2 to 10.

Are there any code snippets that show how to interrogate the list of files passed from the droplet and see them all at once so I can use the entire list of files in a script embeded in an action?
