Specific Background change for a white-light gray gradient

Can you please clarify -
- do you want a white changing to light gray gradient, or a light gray gradient?
- Do you want the gradient from top to bottom, bottom to top. left to right, right to left, center to edges?
- do you want the entire background removed except for the woman in the hat?
