what camera should I get if i'm interested in photography? my budget is 500$

Depends on what you plan to shoot.

The best choice would be :

D3000 refurbished by nikon usa for 279$ on adorama

With the tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 (i have this lens and it's amazing for the price of $420)

if you can't save more money than i suggest:

the D3000 refurbished by nikon usa for 279$ on adorama
with the 35mm f1.8 by nikkor/nikon for 199$ on adorama
