Hey guys , bee flirting with AI for a while now , so i have this small circle and i want to make it a semi circle to , i just place a rectangle over it and click on "minus front" , look below:

Untitled.jpg

( you can see the square placed above , over the small circle. )

Now after i click on "minus front" , i get the following result:

.. Now why the black line under the circle ? i don't want that black line ? why am i getting that black line ?

Click on the bottom anchor point then press backspace..

If not, then make sure you expand the stroke then do what you were doing with the rectangle.

If you have a stroke circle, you will have 4 anchor points. Top, bottom, left and right...

Highlight the bottom anchor point direct (A) selection tool and press backspace.

Or...

Here's your cirlce stroke..

Highlight your circle then go to Object >> Expand. This will make your stroke into a shape.

Then Highlight the rectangle and circle with the selection tool (V) and go to pathfinder and select Minus Front.
