Hello,

please apologize my English. I'm not native.

My question is: I'm frequently creating FB-Ads to drive traffic to my website. I also look at my competitors to see what's working
for them. Most of the ads we use are illustrations. They have a cartoon-feeling.

My question is if I can just redraw an competitors ad and make a few little changes to the picture in order to use it for myself or does that cause already
copyright issues?

Thanks

Hello.

6. “If I change someone’s design just a little but, I can use it with no problem” If you want to copy someone else’s work, you’d better change it a lot if you want to avoid copyright problems. The standard for determining whether something constitutes infringement is whether the copy is substantially similar to the original. If someone’s design is in blue and you change it to orange, or if a figure is on the right and you change it to the left, it is still likely to be found to be substantially similar and constitute infringement.

It would be best if you created your own artworks to avoid any problems. Have you checked the copyright laws of Taiwan?
