I have been scanning for about 7 years with PS...Just noticed recently(PS7) that after each scanner appears.....via twain .....a small icon of sorts ( ? ) with the # 1 , next to it....appears in my upper left corner , of all my scans ...does not seem to affect any tools or operations..just wondering why this always appears,,,{not using layers, either}

thanks cjogo

I think that PS is just numbering your image for you. When I upload from my digital camera, say maybe 10 pics, then they are numbered from 1 to 10. It is just an identifier and does not effect the image. When i scan only 1 image PS still numbers it as #1 but once the image is saved and reloaded into PS the number will be gone.

thanks Rick---clears that up....just something new appeared and was curious,,,,since with Win 98 -using PS7 the object never appeared

thanks kinldy cjogo
