Specific making the background white / transparent

hello photoshoppers
the title says it all
is it possible to "delete" the background from the following picture?
i would need a plain white background or even better... make it transparent.

Photoshop CS6 used to have a"remove black fringe" menu, but I can't find that in Photoshop2022. I would select the white area, they apply a few 3-4 pixel feature (depending on the resolution of the image), and then stroke the left white sleave edge with a "Dodge " brush small, set to Mid tones, set to 3-6 Pixles to remove the grey line.
