When building covers for eBooks, I have a grey background and am trying to put red text over it. It seems to be a problem with the tranparency of the text, but opacity of text is set to 100%.

Would someone point me in the right direction?

Attached is a sample.

dont know without seeing your psd have you tried right clicking the text layer and selecting blending options and choosing a colour overlay. Upload your psd and we should be abe to figure it out.
JUst check your IMage > MOde and see if you have converted it to greyscale though.

Thank you, sir. I discovered that everything was displayed in greyscale.

Image -> mode was apparently set to RGB and 8 bit. After playing around with the mode, all seems to be workong fine.
