Regarding using Filter>Render>Lighting Effects -- I have used it previously with no problems, but recently found when I tried to that the 'Lighting Effects' menu item was greyed out so that I could not use it. After much troubleshooting and Google research, I tried converting from 16 but to 8 bit and it then worked as it should. Why does Lighting Effects work in 8 bit but not in 16 bit? I have not had that problem previously? I am running Adobe CC and keep my software up to date. Am running Windows 10 which is also up to date. My graphic card drives are also up to date. Any clues as to what is happening would be appreciated.

Why does Lighting Effects only work in 8 bit?
