    Explosion

I'm using C4d and i saw a tutorial that shows how to explode letters (or implode) but i cant seem to get it right. When i try it with letters nothing happens but when i try it with a cube the cube just goes downwards, it doesnt shatter or anything. Anyone think they might know why???

heres the link to the tutorial

Start by setting your render options. In there you will find all the options you need to save as an avi or a mov or...

One thing: you did create a movie, didn't you (used the timeline etc?)

    What version are you using?

I cannot explain it better than it is done in the manual. See page 525 and following.
Just make shure you use a movie extension (don't save as .psd or .tif for example), set to animation instead of still image and use the Makepreview on the Render dropdown.

Cheers for the kudos there Rick, but I dont know about the expert bit

Erik we sorted this out via a PM I think.

Just to add use the Sorenson codec it will make your animation about half the size QT would make it and the quality is not much different at all

If you are rendering a really large ani you are better off using Targa or something like Tiff, that way if you have a screw up {and if you have AE or some movie editor etc}you can re start your render from where the screw up started,if not you get a useless QT movie or something like that.It does happen to I remember one poor guy had used QT on a really large and really important render,he ended up with an unusable file of some description no one could work out,of around 7 - 8 gig of animation, but could do nothing with it.

    Explosions

I like making all kind of explosions and I can say it worths the effort. Still, it can be tricky for beginners and nobody should get upset if the desired effects don't get immediately.
My first attempts are quite emberessing Anyway, if you want some clips about that, check out codervods.com/Default.aspx or just codervods.com/Default.aspx?mode=default&&category=Adobe%20Photos hop&&days=7&&currentIndex=0to go directly to Photoshop section.
