    Sketchup 3D

Wondering if anyone here has played around with, or used SketchUp. Pulled a demo down this evening, and it's an architect's dream, I would think.

Can get pretty complex, (which is cool), and has a big supporting community, that have a million ideas, and examples of their work. Seems pretty intuitive after you learn the basics.

Would love to see anyone's work with it.

I've only played around with the demo. Certainly is a dinky wee package.

I thought it would be handy for 'quick 3D sketching' for roughing out things for developing in Cinema.

    Cheers, Al.

Many users have said that Maxon should buy Sktchup and integrate its functionality in the next version of Cinema.
I looked at what it can do, but as I can't find the funds to buy it, I won't try the demo.
Question of lack of masochism I suppose...

Speaking of architecture: Arndt von Koenigsmark has released a new plugin for Cinema that can integrate objects in photographs under the correct perspective angles. It's based on splines.
    More over at Vreel.

Don't look at it as the ultimate modeling tool, because it doesn't come nowhere near. It's just perfect for architecture oriented models.
Also don't expect to make more complicated models with it like faces, cars, animals, etc.
