Well. One way to do this is to cut out all the layers needed for 3d effect. Then create bevels for selected layers. Adjust position and such. Then you should have something similar to this. or cut out layers. and then import it into after effects.

In Adobe Illustrator after you have made the states, click on one and choose Effect --> 3D --> Extrude and Bevel from there you can set the amount and angle of the extrusion.

exactly that
however, I would add that the perspective of each object you create is particular to that object. so if you wanted replicate what you see in that image, you'd have to combine all the shapes you wanted to be extruded into one "<cmd>+8" or "<crtl>+8" and then do the extrude.

I think these have been made using the 3D tool in Illustrator.
1st isolate the states using the pen tool or just basically retrace & get a separate state & using the filter effect, extrude it. Change angles according to view. Like left side has say 20° and right side has -20° .
