Before... And not quite after...
Hey guys. Last summer, I decided that I wanted to create something that would really push my skills, and make me learn some new photoshop stuff.
I began with a screenshot from a video game that I play called Halo 3. In this game, you can take screenshots of action. I took a shot of one of my online buddies - his gamertag is BlueHoopedMoose.

That's a section of the screenshot. I was unhappy with almost everything about the image, and as I wanted to print it at least 1000mm wide at super hi-res, I decided to massage it somewhat. I chose to do a photomontage/digital painting hybrid.
I grabbed a few texture images from the internet, and from my stock of texture images that I've taken myself, and manipulated them to look like this:-

Sadly, I have been unable to do much to it for about 6 months or so. Besides, the file is now of such mammoth proportions, both my mac at home and at work are beginning to struggle with it!
To put it into perspective, each section is a layer group (such as the shoulder, forearm, helmet etc.), and the upper shoulder group has more than 30 layers in it!
One day I'l finish it, but not anytime soon, I think
If anyone's interested, I'll maybe post the layer sequence, so you can see how it's put together.
