Trash unused Bridge app?

Hello!

I have Photoshop Elements 6, and do not use the Bridge application. Is there any reason that I need to keep it, or can I safely "trash" it?

You can get several answers on this 1 some people do not use bridge at all and some people cant live without it. I love Bridge it lets you see files that windows can not see ie illustrator image previews. It is also very handy to transfer different files from 1 application to another. Technically in answer to your question no you do not need it however there is talk that it is needed for some of the rarer files to convert them into a format that photoshop will recognise. But this is only really so for previewing complicated images like Raw files and more complicated file types. honestly though bridge is designed as a preview application so does not take up hardly any space on your computer it remembers superficial editing for example raw file processing where if you dont actually save the file physically it will remember the last state you left it in. I honestly would keep it as you never know when you may need it. I went 3 years without using it but now I use it all the time once I had learnt more about the capabilities of such a powerful application.
technically no you dont need to keep it but what harm is it doing being there.

Thanks for the reply! In the meantime, I was googling this issue and did indeed find a variety of opinions on Bridges usefulness and whether or not it could be safely deleted. I should have mentioned that I have a Mac, and Bridge was causing me problems from the beginning. It wasn't until I read "The Missing Manual" book that I even realized that I did not need to use Bridge to access my photos, and found that it was FAR easier to work directly from iPhoto, and according to the author, would avoid problems that Bridge could cause. Anyway, I was just hoping to remove the almost 400mb from my smallish drive, but remain undecided...

In Windows I'm not seeing an option to remove Bridge through Control Panel|Programs and Features (Vista -Win7) or Add or Remove Programs (earlier versions)
If there isn't an option to remove it in PS you probably can't safely remove it.

Either way I wouldn't.
You're not saving much space and it could compromise PS working properly.

Yeah I believe you need to use the photoshop installation disk and remove elements in the modify selection.
