Need some ideas for a flyer

hello, it's my first post here so please be kind (: a couple of friends from my school is starting a youth cafè, so people have somewhere to hang in the weekends (ya we live in a small community) anyway I've always been the photoshop guy, and I've made flyers for them in the past, so off course they asked my to make a flyer for this project, the problem is i really have no ideas of how to make this. they decided to call this cafè 7th heaven, and the only help they have given me, is that it has to be cool, and appeal to the youth, and the background have to be blueish. so it's really not much help there, and the only think i can think of is clouds, and i find to be a bit cliché and cheesy, so i hoped that you guys could give me some ideas, that i could use for the flyers

ticalico has a good idea. Look at those posters. Then look up coffee shops all around the world that have websites. You might get inspired that way. You might also just google for images like coffee drinkers or coffee cups, maybe even 7th heaven! You might want to look at some surrealist painting. Here is a link to Magritte, his classic man with the sky behind him, and others: Paintings by René Magritte Take a look at Dali (I hate the man but his art is impressive). You might get some ideas.

My first association would be sky and clouds too if someone said 7th Heaven. Try word associations. You know, start with the idea, 7th heaven or clouds or coffee & 7th heaven, then just start a chain of associations. See if that takes you anywhere. Make some images even if they seem like a struggle and sit on them overnight or longer. You may want to scrap them all, but you might start to thinking what it is you really want to say. Good luck. If I get any inspiration, I'll get back to you, but I think you've just hit a bit of artist's block so don't worry.

Here's a thought. Corny maybe.

2 shelves. the bottom one juts out a bit further. top shelf has a few stacks of coffee cups, some up, some down. to the sides are cups on their sides. on top of a couple of upturned stacked cups a cup sits on its side and a waterfall flows down. The stacks of cups are meant to symbolize rocks. there are rivulets/ribbons of coffee streaming in the waterfall, dark brew, light, medium, coffee with cream and with heavy cream.

on the bottom shelf is the title 7th heaven, maybe with a blue to brown grdient through the letters. the waterfall splashes in droplets over the top of the letters, mostly blue to the left and the coffee colors on the right.

I said it was corny
depends I guess on whether you/they want cute or sophisticated.
