looking for the best computer hardware for running PS5

Hey Guys, I am about to upgrade my computer to a solid state hard drive and from 8mb of ram to 16mb of ram... my question to you guys is.... if you were upgrading your computer, what drive would you choose... just a little more info... i currently have my computer split.. one hard drive is strictly for my programs... another for storing all my files...a third for backing up...and a forth used as a scratch drive for PS....i am a complete idiot when it comes to computers and hardware (someone else has been building my computer and doing my work and upgrades) he is suggesting a 226 SSD...... i use my computer A LOT to do Photoshop.... my goal is to speed up the computer so that when i am working with files at 300dpi(slow to compute changes).... that the PS works as fast as when i am working with files at 72dpi... any help is greatly appreciated...thanks in advance...Dave

OCZ VErtex or any OCZ range really they are good value and good performers I am going to assume the ram upgrade is actually 8 gig upto 16 Gig this however will not effect photoshop as photoshop will rarely push past 4 gig but make sure you set the ram usgae upto 4024 in photoshop preferences. A solid state drive good ram and fast cpu will only make the actual program load up slightly faster. I would focus more on getting a good speed Ram Corsair, Kingston etc Ram is dirt cheap at the moment so are SSD's compared to normal state drives so really push your budget out. Now this all only matters if you are getting a cpu and graphics card to match I would reccomend
    intel i7 2600k but over clock it to 4 - 4.5 ghz
intel i7 2700k overclocked to 4.5ghz anymore then you will need to be looking at special cooling equipment

These 2 are by far the best if you are on a budget.
No budget a dual xeon set up with 2 cpus

or the new range of intels sandy bridge 6 cores
    3930 K
3930 x the latter being a lot more expensive with very little performance boost from the 3930K

Graphics I would stick to nvidia
gtx 560 or 580 good value card.

I don't believe you need a super fast computer for photoshop. I think video editing software need a more powerful computer.
