I need help importing 3d files from 3D Studio Max to CS5 extended

I need your help. I bought a library of models created in 3D Studio Max with vray and haven't been able to import the meshes with their mtl files and jpeg texture maps into cs5 extended. I was able to import the meshes as a 3ds file but was limited to the number of faces and the resultant quality was hit or miss. I could also import obj files as a single mesh comprised of what should have been several separate meshes. In both cases without a connection to their mtl files or their jpeg texture files. I heard that there is a vray plug-in for photoshop. Would that help and if so where can i get it? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I never heard of a vray plug-in for what you're talking about. Course I've never used 3DS Max either. Sobefore you download anything that you may not need, you can use the Place command to import 3ds max files into Photoshop. Click on File>Place.. and navigate to the top of the dialog box that opens up. There is an entry for .3ds files.
