Ok the question as been asked and started a bit of a war, let's all calm down and talk of the pro's and cons as each see them.
KEEP IT CLEAN OR LIZZY WILL RUB YOU OUT:evil:

-----------------------------------------------------

I for one use both when the situation at hand requires the use of either, i can draw to a really good level with the mouse but i use the tablet and pen to fine tune and sort details (that's just me though)?

i can't name one advantage using a mouse. Can anyone else? And why would you? Why wouldn't you use a tablet instead of a mouse?

It's why all the studios in the world use tablets and not a mouse.

in fact the high-end studios are using cintiqs, not tablets. An ever bigger step up. But a mouse is not even used in these places. Intuos's are the bare minimum. I don't know what the debate is here. I can assure you that no creative art studios are using a mouse for their digital work lol.

Because we are not all named 'smokey2011' that's why, everyone as a choice.
I use a mouse a lot of the time because a lot of what's asked for here is free and easy, no real need for that extra touch if it's just showing how it is done or one of the ways to approach a given request, theres more than one way to delete a portion of a image, doesn't mean the eraser is the only and best way to do it.
Personal choice is all people need and the faith in what they use to get where they are trying to go.

a mouse is perfect if all you're doing is going to file/edit/transform, etc...

but if you're trying to actually draw in strands of hair or trying to draw in other aspects, then a mouse simply cannot be used to do it.

it's up to you whatever you're using.
