How is an edit like this done?

Clever masking? Like can anyone take the original, turn it into the after an explain what they did?

The colors and exposures are totally different, it doesnt even look like the same picture

Looks like the same image duplicated twice second image reversed and joined at girls face the rest might have been removed then the lights with movement effect added in, colours altered and blown to give more to that effect?
 
No this is all in camera, i am moreso asking how the "green" version is turned into the "blue" version.

i can see curves were used to darken, but not how the colours have been shifted
 
So how do you know it was all in the camera:question:
 
Entered under "in camera artistry" in a recent competition, lets assume the photographer isnt a liar ;)
 
I've met the challenge!

It's done with layer modes, a simple mask, and color fill layers.

I hate it when op's come here with assumptions and expect us to do the request, and get sarcastic comments - thats my job:mrgreen:
 
In camera, with a mirror and a gel over the flash, with the camera filter set for the other color...Now try it for us?
