    Its a good concept.

    May I suggest breaking the stafflines so they wont look in-line in adjacent petals.

    Breaking them up will make the superimposition look more realistic.

    I agree with dv8_fx. You might also want to look into a tutorial on displacement maps. Given the sharp lines though, you can probably marquis the notes and move them and transform them.
