    Which looks better

Ok here is a still image of a project I am working on of an animation but I cant decide on my lighting for the video I dont know wether to have it as the white out look like you would see if you went into an apple store or the slightly greyed out version.

I am also working on a retro version with a modern twist you know he old style mac logo with the coloured stripes. I will hopefully have a preview version of that within the next 24 hours but for now it is the modern style I need to work on.

So which 1 do you prefer as the groundwork

It is more in the apple style to be like clinical white, but they do use a very light gradient, so slight you can hardly see it.

Yeah that is what I thought I think I am going to have to change the materials as for what I want to do with all the reflections and shine on it will just make it almost blurred and detail lost in the animating process.

    Re: Which looks better

i don't hate apple, i just hate the prices for macs :P i love apple if i was to choose between the feelings, my Ipod has lasted me 3 years without such thing as a blip (needs a battery replacement though) but i used to buy the good Mp3 players, and i was lucky if they lasted 2 months without having something wrong with them.
i suppose if i owned a mac, i would understand the prices, but i don't own a mac soo... i want an Ipad 2 though :P i practically live in the apple store playing on theirs XD

    and Merry Christmas

Oh defiinatly and up top now if money was not an option I would have chosen mac over pc for all design elements especially animation but when you look at the specs of pc vs mac the mac even though the same specced was bette built and would out perform pc.
But Intel have finally upped there game and pcs are out performing macs when you go down the custom side unless your willing to pay £16,000 for a mac that will perform very closely to a £2-3,000 pc
    They are sexy though.

I'd go for the clinical white with slight gradient. I'm not certain how you plan your effects but I also like the visible apple reflection.

With that POV, probably you can grey out the background to emphasize the glow and reflection and fade in the white TagLine once the animation sequence is complete ..... just my 2 centavos..... lol...

    Love to see your animation.
