    Tom Knowlton

Hi everyone, it's good to be here.

I've been in the IT industry for 15 years. I decided it was time for a change, so I enrolled in a "Visual Communications" certification. I am at the end of my coursework now, and I am trying to learn Photoshop and a few other applications that come with the Adobe Suite.

So it is my intent to migrate from software development into graphic design.

I look forward to learning from everyone!

    Tom

    Thanks, iDad!

Yes, Photoshop is vast. I don't anticipate ever running out of questions.

Thanks for your interest. I am a newbie to Photoshop but I love designing products (cards, audio which needs packaging, journals, calendars, etc.) I've always mach-upped what I watned and then hired someone to execute. I decided its time for me to learn some basic skills so I can see more of what's possible. I'm also starting a website so guess what? Photoshop skills needed again!

This looks like a great place to also hire photoshop freelancers if I know what I need is beyond my skill level.

Hi Tom, welcome to the forums.

That's an interesting transition. Most of the time there are coders and there are designers, to be both is rare

Best of luck with the change, and if you have any questions we will be happy to help
