    Novice with CS2

I'm sure to upgrade in the not to distant future. However, the complexities and challenges associated with learning the basics in this version keep me fairly well occupied. I will be posting some pretty mundane questions in the beginning that have puzzled me about my work flow. I need (and want) to get more proficient with the various Photoshop tools because I have been documenting the restoration of a few historically significant houses that I purchased. Another reason is that I am an artist/craftsman. I exhibit my work at some of the higher end art-craft shows in the country. These shows are juried and very competitive to get into. I have set up a small space where I image my work.

I'm saving up for CS5. But it isn't easy. Have had to cut down on my Pub time. LOL. Plan on a trip to your 'Island' next year. With my telescope. Want to go to Ayers Rock and set up there for a week when the moon is not in the way.

Welcome to PSG Telescopist. Sounds like you're an ambitious guy (? -- shouldn't assume :} ). There's a lot to discover in Photoshop no matter what version. I used PS6 till a year ago. Yep, CS5 is an investment for most of us. Enjoy the forum!

I was just teasing. Not sure if you took it personally by your response. Sometimes interjecting 'Smilies' helps to convey the tone...

I gather that CS5 is the latest edition? Your right about the $$outlay. I'm going to milk CS2 for what I can first before moving on. I also will be using PS to process my celestial images. I image the sun with a customized CCD camera that takes 30 frames per second. Thanks for the welcome.
