Acrobat launches, but then tells me it can't run and shuts down
"Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional cannot be launched at this time. You must launch at least one other suite component (such as Adobe Photoshop) before launching Acrobat 8 Professional."
This is the message I get every time I try to open up Acrobat. Acrobat then shuts down. I've tried doing as it says and open up Photoshop, but it still gives me that message. Why?

sounds like it's part of one of the CS3 suites, If so, all the apps work with the same s/n and activation code. You must activate the suite with PS or Ill or ID in order for Acrobat to open. You may have to un-install the suite and start over and activate Acrobat at the same time you activate the rest of the suite.

Yeah, I think Ronmatt is right, because I really doubt that the program would come up with the same message if you would buy Acrobat as a single product.... I mean, that would force people to buy the CS3 suite to get Acrobat to work, that would be ridiculous.

You're right in that it's part of the CS3 suite. Ugh, how annoying. Thank you for your help, though.

I had to go through the same process. I loaded the suite on a new machine but preferred to use Acrobat 7.08. I'm not fond of the way Acro 8 with Pitstop [ doesn't work ] Then Pitstop came up with version 7.03 in which they made it compatible with Acro 8. So in order to load up 8, I had to uninstall the suite and start over, loading Acrobat with he initial install. PITA!! >:O
