Need to batch process 800 photos to resize but NOT crop to 1 to 2 MB -PSE7 or CS3

I have a client that only wants her images to be 1 to 2 MB each and they are all far in excess of 8MB. There are over 800 and I have PSE7 and CS3. Can either batch process to resize WITHOUT cropping? I have attempted it several times in PSE7 and it always crops them. Would love advice... thanks!

You'll need to record an action and run it through Bridge.

Here's what you do in the action.
Open the image and then goto Save for Web and Devices.
Choose jpeg then click on the arrow to the right.
Click on Optimize to File Size and enter your the desired file size.

You can do this in CS3 not Elements.
I haven't tried this but it should work.
Good Luck and let us know how you make out.

Well, CS3 just hates me tonight so I'm going to try it on my desktop tomorrow. Everytime I begin the action, it encounters a problem and shuts the program down. I'll try again tomorrow and post how well it worked (or didnt?) :-)

Well I don't know but it sound to me that you may just try something like this Fotosizer - Batch Image resizing made easy...
