    Color differences between programs

    I'm curious.

I'm running Windows Vista. If I load an image in windows viewer, or nikon NX it looks darker and has more red hue to it.

If I open the same picture in Photoshop CS2 or Nero or Aple's viewer, it looks brighter.

Which one has the correct color?

Photoshop is colour managed, so it will display using the colour profile you have set within Photoshop's options. If you use the correct profile then you can see the correct colour.

Windows Viewer is not colour managed properly.

Sorry don't know about the Nikon app.

Colour management is a huge topic and takes a bit of understanding to get right. I'd recommend having a search on the internet for an introductory guide.

    Hope this helps,

    S
