Filter Dialog Boxes
I am a new user to this forum, I hope someone can help. I recently purchased Creative Suites Premium and when using Photoshop CS, I try to add certain filters (for example Texture>Craquelure or Grain just to mention a few). The dialog box that appears takes up most of the screen and I cannot see the right side where the settings are. I try to resize the box but to no avail. Any Ideas?????
I am running Windows XP Pro, and I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Photoshop CS. I have reset my preferences and deleted the filter cache file.
Also I can apply the filter but just can't see the whole dialog box to confirm the settings.

Hi phred and welcome to the forums. It sounds as though you need to change the resolution of your monitor. Photoshop has to run on a screen at least 1024 x 768 or you will run into the problem you describe. Without knowing, I'd bet you are using an 800 x 600 resolution.

Welcome new member phred I see you are on your way to becoming "hooked" on PS like the rest of us: "You can go away from it but you can never leave it".
Good point Welles - I wouldn't have thought of suggesting that but I'll bet you nailed it!

Filter Dialog Boxes
Hi Joy! Not long ago we had a similar question, I think on PSG but it could have been the Adobe PS for Mac forums. If I remember correctly Pierre came up with the tidbit about PS requirements including a 1024x768 minimum screen resolution. (As you can see I didn't forget that bit 'o info.) ;)

Hey Welles passing the word is so good. In fact, just remembering is awesome. \:]
I recall there are usually some requirements about resolution stated when one is installing a program, but in the heat of passion to get it running, most of us don't read. They should just say in instructions: Problems? Join a forum or company blog where it can be explained so much better by knowledgeable people.

Thank you
Welles and Joy,
Ya'll are the best!
Everything is working great. I am happy to be a new CS user. Although I have had about a year with Elements 2.0, I never thought to try the resolution.
Thanks again for the great advice. I look forward to using the forum (I'm sure I'll need it) and helping out whenever I can.
Many Thanks
