    back again

Well, retirement isn't all it's cracked up to be. Got back from my well deserved vacation. Played around with the keyboard, built a new workstation for the cabin. Entered the RE-DESIGN VIC contest on the DA for Megadeth. Probably didn't win anything. But it got the juices runnin' again.
Once you realize that one of the things you enjoy most, is one of the things you've been doing all along it's sort of an epiphony. So I'm back at Photoshop. Anyway, I'll be posting some more of my stuff for critique. Except they won't be little bits and pieces anymore. Full blown illustrations. You'll see how I employ those textures that I create. I'll start tomorrow with a piece I submitted to the contest. I look forward to answering any questions as to how I created the effects. RM
( Has this forum gotten a bit duller since Welles left? I don't see as much from Patrick, Moth, Lasa or Scync either. Let's liven this baby up....)

    welcome back ronmatt!

can't wait to see new stuff. i like new stuff. it has been kinda dull around here, so new stuff is good. even though your stuff is way over my head, i can't begin to comprehend how you do it, it's cool to look at and sit with my mouth open thinking wow.

ok then here we go. this was a contest entry. most of it was done using bits and pieces that I had done previously as individual 'parts' saved as transp. png's. then assembled into one illustration. I've already posted tutes on how to make the wires. As for the metal skull, It was new for me but actually pretty easy to do. It may have taken me 4 hours to complete but as I said, it was mostly assembly. Any questions?. It may be a bit morose for some but I ain't sellin' subject matter here, just technique. I've got about 10 of these and I'll break one out every now and then.

    Hows it been going man!
Your right I havn't been as active here lately. I think I just got preoccupied with school, work, etc. I think we can liven things up a bit though. My creative jucies have been on hold for a while too. At least when it comes to PS anyway. I've started to get into html and web design and it's pretty fun once you start learning more and more.
BTW, that wire/skull pic is wicked! I hope you win something.
    Later. 8))

    Re: back again

    Well guys....

I've been lurking. It's been slow around here. The post count is so low there hasn't been much of a need for me to step in. I am also still hurting over the loss of Welles. Add to that the lack of response to the last contest and you have the recipe for a pretty discouraged MOD. It seems like the forum is fading and nothing seems to generate participation. I am open to ideas.
