    creating favicons in PS CS4

I have the steps to create a favicon in CS4, however seems i am missing a crucial step. my 64x64 image is very pixelated. How do you get around the pixelation to make a smooth image to reduce to 16x16? please help.

    Hey.

The default resampling method is "Bicubic", which is good for general work.
For best reduction quality choose "Bicubic Sharper".

There is also a rule of thumb of 10% steps for increasing image sizes (to prevent
unwanted ghosting), not sure if this applies to reduction tho...

    Cheers.

Your image can't have a lot of detail in it. If you post a sample we can take a look and will be able to give you better advice.

It's hard to say without seeing the image, but good advice so far.
