fire plasma effect

Could someone tell me how can you make this sort of effect where the plasma seems to be a sort of gradient that fades into transparent ? or if you know of a tutorial on how to make an effect like that i appreciate it if i could have the link.
it looks a lot like some tutorials ive seem on how to create a plasma effect from the render clouds filters but i havent got it to look like that.

not sure but I see outer glow, bevel emboss, satin and gradient effects maybe even inner shadow
